A maintenance-level clean on a well-kept car takes a few hours; a full deep clean with extraction on a vehicle that has carried children, dogs, or a few years of daily use takes considerably longer, and heavily soiled interiors sometimes stay overnight so carpets and upholstery can dry properly before the car goes back to you. Adding protection extends it further, since fabric and leather protectants need clean, fully dry surfaces to bond to and then need time to cure. Odour work with ozone runs after the cleaning is finished and adds its own cycle plus venting time. We look at the vehicle and set clear expectations when you book rather than quoting a standard slot, because interiors vary far more between cars than exteriors do.

We tackle odours by removing the source first, because everything else is temporary if the source stays. Yes. After a deep clean we can apply fabric protectants that make carpets and cloth upholstery resist liquid, so spills bead and lift instead of soaking into the weave, and leather protectants that leave a breathable barrier against body oils, dye transfer from denim, and UV. We also offer coatings for high-touch, high-wear areas -- the driver's seat bolster, which wears first on almost every car, plus door cards, the centre console and screens. All of it goes on after the deep clean, never before: protection applied over dirt seals the dirt in and bonds poorly, which is why it is a follow-on stage rather than a standalone service. Protection does not make an interior self-cleaning, but it buys you time to deal with a spill and makes routine cleaning much less work. Applied protection also makes the difference visible at the next visit rather than only at this one.

Yes. Pet hair is one of the more time-consuming things in an interior, because it works into the weave of carpet and fabric and vacuuming alone will not lift it. We use targeted agitation with rubber and bristle tools to break it free of the fibres, extraction to pull it out, and compressed air to drive it out of seat rails, seams, and the tight areas around consoles and belt anchors where it collects. Heavy build-up -- a long-haired dog and a few years of daily travel -- needs extra time and sometimes repeated passes, and we will tell you at the assessment if that is the case rather than discovering it halfway through the slot. Fabric protection applied afterwards makes the next clean considerably easier, because hair then sits on the surface rather than working down into the pile.

Used properly, yes. Ozone is effective on odours because it oxidises the compounds causing them rather than masking them, but we only run it after the interior has been thoroughly cleaned -- ozone applied to a dirty car treats the symptom and the smell returns. We run it in a controlled space with the vehicle unoccupied, for a measured cycle rather than an open-ended one, and then vent the vehicle fully before it is handed back. That venting step matters: ozone is a respiratory irritant at treatment concentrations, which is exactly why nobody should be inside during a cycle, and it breaks back down to ordinary oxygen once the generator is off. Repeated heavy exposure can degrade rubber and some plastics, another reason we treat it as a targeted tool rather than a routine finishing step.

We recommend a full interior detail every four to six months for most vehicles, with lighter maintenance visits in between. That cadence is not arbitrary: it is roughly how long it takes for the abrasive grit tracked in on shoes to accumulate to the point where it starts wearing carpet and seat fabric, and how long protection applied to leather and cloth typically stays effective. Vehicles that carry children, pets or work gear, or that live outside, benefit from a shorter interval; a garaged weekend car can go considerably longer. The maintenance visits in between are what keeps the cost down -- they are short, they keep surfaces clean and protected, and they mean the full detail is a refresh rather than a recovery.
